Tell me what it’s like
To love another so
Unselfishly, unhypocritically
Pure adoration on its own

Tell me what it’s like
To never question your choice
When there’s a constant chatter
This incessant grey noise

Tell me what it’s like
To look at your lover
When all else fails
And never lust for another

Tell me what it’s like
When you feel so blue
You are alone
No longer two

Tell me what it’s like
When the words have been said
There’s no turning back
The love seems dead

Tell me what it’s like
At night alone
Your lover deserted
An empty home.

Tell me what it’s like
When it takes its toll
Holes in your heart
And a broken soul.
